Shoulder-neck box

A three-part rigid box — short separate lid, lower base and a raised inner shoulder that aligns the two.

An open shoulder-neck rigid box with a short separate lid, a raised copper inner shoulder and a fitted insert holding a bottle and two tumblers.

Construction

Three rigid components: a short lift-off lid, a lower outer base and a separate inner neck fixed inside the base so it projects above the base walls. The exposed neck forms a visible rim between lid and base, aligns the lid as it closes and reinforces the structure. There is no hinge, spine or magnetic flap. Inside, a fitted tray or die-cut board insert holds each bottle, glass or tool in its own cut-out below the shoulder.

The shoulder-neck box is the most architectural of the rigid constructions in this range. The short top lid lifts away to reveal a contrasting inner rim — the shoulder or neck — standing above the lower base. That raised rim aligns the lid, reinforces the walls and creates a deliberate second reveal before the product is reached.

Unlike a standard lid-and-base box, the lid does not run down the full depth of the base. Unlike a book-style box, there is no hinge or spine. The construction is three rigid components: a short separate lid, a lower outer base and an inner neck fixed into the base. The neck can match the outer wrap or use a contrasting colour to make the structure visible.

For bottles and glassware, the product sits below the shoulder in a fitted tray or die-cut board insert. The raised rim gives the lid a precise register when it closes and helps the box resist side movement during handling.

Send us the product dimensions, the quantity and the finish you want. We will propose the neck height, insert and board specification, then make a sample before bulk production.

Common questions

How is this different from a lid-and-base box?
A standard lid runs down over the outside of the base. Here the lid is short and closes over a separate inner neck that projects above the lower base, leaving the shoulder as a visible structural layer.
Is the lid hinged or magnetic?
NO. The lid is completely separate and lifts vertically. Magnets are not what defines this structure.
What is the shoulder or neck?
It is a rigid inner wall fixed inside the lower base. It projects above the base, aligns the lid and can be wrapped in a contrasting paper for a visible reveal.
Can the shoulder be a different colour?
SÌ. The outer lid and base can share one wrap while the exposed neck uses a contrasting colour, texture or foil detail.
Can each item have its own cut-out?
SÌ. The insert is cut to the actual contents so each bottle, glass or tool sits in its own shape below the shoulder.
What is the minimum order?
1,000 pz, in livelli da 1.000 a 4.999, 5,000–9.999 e 10,000+ pz.
Do you hold stock sizes?
NO. Every box is made to order against your contents and approved sample.
